Democrats ought to ride this privacy horse to a wave election in 2018

Dems should beat this ISP Internet Privacy Sale horse until in turns into glue. Then they should use that glue to make another Privacy Horse and ride it too.

This is the proverbial big fat slow pitch down the middle of the plate.

Perhaps, more than anything, it is simple to understand, and you have the added benefit that the only thing less popular than Trump right now is your run of the mill Cable and Internet Service Provider.

It's something that can resonate with the country, and you don't need big words to explain it. Hell, it's perfectly set-up to where you could even ponder about stuff that the legislation doesn't even do. Let's have the Republicans be the ones trying to "prove a negative" for once.

It will resonate with the 40% of Americans from the Rust Belt that voted for Trump. You can use their language to explain it to them.

And while we are on the subject of "language", why is it that we don't call Russian Mobsters, Thugs, Criminals, Fat-Cats, Murderers, Thieves and Con-men, "Mobsters, Thugs, Criminals, Fat-Cats, Murderers, Thieves and Con-men? Seriously, we use a term like "Oligarch"??.

I guarantee you that 40% of Americans don't know what the hell that is, and 90% of the Trump voters who bought that bill of goods the ReTrumplicans were selling them, sure as hell don't know what a frickin "Oligarch" is...but they know what a Mobster it.

You say "Oligarch", and folks in the Rust Belt will be like; "isn't that the fake butter stuff you put on toast, or some type of bird from Australia".

Call these Mobsters and Thieves what they are.

I hate Frank Luntz, but the Democrats need someone to tell them the importance of language.

Now, getting back to this Privacy issue. "Skeeter" over at the Dew-Drop-Inn probably doesn't know what the hell an Oligarch is, but he will understand if you tell him his wife's divorce attorney can purchase his internet browsing history from his Cable Company.

Paul at the Ford Plant may not know what an Oligarch is, but he will understand when you tell him his employer, or insurance company can buy his searches for Heart Disease Treatment, or his email to his brother.

The ads practically write themselves. The ReTrumplicans just sold your most intimate and private data to the highest bidder.

If Dems attack this issue correctly, they could win Utah.

The pitch is right down the middle, the take sign is off and the swing away sign is given. Drive this baby over the centerfield wall

Like stopping a vote on Gorsuch. Why pick on Democrats and not see that the shit with Internet privacy is being driven totally by republicans? Democrats could have removed Net privacy, but they didn't. Focus on the real enemy. Democrats should absolutely use this issue to plummel republicans in 2018.
