for educating, informing, and always seeming to be ahead of the curve.
And that goes for all the people who work for/with her!

(7,529 posts)She is in the prime of her career. I remarked to my mother that she's "this generation's Walter Cronkite."

Rachel has excelled, more than usual if that's possible. It could be an intriguing story with Russia.

Randi said yesterday she is going to try and get Malcolm Nance on again. The last time she had him on they talked for almost 45 minutes - it was great.

(51,559 posts)This doesn't happen to male newscasters because they aren't painted up with eye shadow.
As far as the comments about her looking tired, I don't think it is driven by sexism. It is driven by affection and concern for Rachel. I noted the lighting to explain why she looks "tired" as noted by the OP.
Rachel was not in her regular studio, but was stuck in western Massachusetts due to an ice storm, as she said at the top of the broadcast. It is obvious she was broadcasting from a makeshift operation without her regular makeup artist and lighting people. That made her look different to people who watch her on a daily basis like I do.
She is like family to some of us. If your sister walked in the room with dramatic eye shadow on just one eye, you wouldn't say anything?

(6,551 posts)The lighting was bad, the switches to video were off by a hair, and likely for the fact that her team wasn't there, she's wasn't at her best.
But no matter. It was still a good show.
