Does he really think he can get away with blaming the black guy to weasel out of his predicament?
Does he really project that much, thinking America is that racist?
I'm reminded of a small child, caught in the act and impulsively accusing someone else. However, this is clearly a strategy to politicize a criminal inquiry and borders on a crime itself, obstruction of justice. It certainly is abuse of power to falsely accuse someone of a felony, and that itself is criminal conduct of false accusation. Under law words written which impute to another the commission of a crime are known as 'per se slander' and do not required proof of damages, a slam-dunk civil action. The criminal offence of making false allegations is covered under the common law offence of perverting the course of public justice. But hey, this small child with tapping tiny fingers seems to think he is the law of the land now.
If I recall correctly, the small child who cries "so-and-so did it" doesn't fair well at the end of the day. Stopbullying.gov reports that bullies often have trouble controlling their emotions and impulses and find it hard to follow rules. You don't suppose someone childish wasn't following the rules?

(13,390 posts)What does disability have to do with blaming the black guy or supporting 45?
L. Coyote
(51,129 posts)Let's not cyber-lynch Trump supporters for any disabilities they may or may not have. I get the point that some people only like the government one day a month, but we don't need to bully them and won't win anyone over doing so.
loyalsister
(13,390 posts)It's just simple ableist bigotry to use a disabled person's experience to make a point. We aren't here to be your metaphor or to help make a point about people you hate.

(51,129 posts)The push back is delicious on Twitter, gives anyone on the globe a chance to reply directly to anyone else----until you get blocked! In Trump's case, that's a Yuuuge event for celebration.
Rachel Maddow pointed out the obvious. None of the excuses that Vice President Mike Pence is giving for his lack of knowledge about the Russia scandal make sense. As the head of Trump's transition, Vice President Pence is not clean and will go down with Trump for the events that happened during the 2016 election.

(24,565 posts)I really want Pence to go down with trump even if it means we get the granny killer next. Imo Pence is just as evil as trump, and succeeding trump would end lyin'Ryan's political career like it did Ford's.

(5,730 posts)I agree w your post...feel the same.
Neither Pence nor Ryan would get elected. There is proof that Pence is complicit. I think Ryan may have had knowledge too.

(13,390 posts)The concrete meaning of that word should be maintained rather than be turned into a metaphor.
L. Coyote
(51,129 posts)Just hang it out there without telling us, that's falling flat with me. Well, there is a definition and it matches.
Cyber lynching (alt: cyber-lynching) is the equivalent of a lynching mob, but unlike in the real world, online no physical damage is inflicted.
Trump is leading a mob in this regard, so don't tell me he's the only one, go to Twitter and see for yourself.
loyalsister
(13,390 posts)and read the details. It's callous to translate a very specific horrifying physical experience (concrete) into a metaphor.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)But the "concrete meaning" of the word does make good click bait. I imagine Coyote would agree with that at least.
At least until and if the word, and with it the reality, has lost much of its power of shocking from misuse.

(5,106 posts)NOW he thinks he can (wishfully) issue them orders? The fact that our POTUS is still childishly calling names (and I'm no fan of Chuck Todd) is insanity. I grew up in one of the few Democratic families in a very Republican Pennsylvania town. When JFK came through town, in 1960, I recruited more fellow high school girls than I could handle as "Kennedy Girls", wanting to wear the hat and sash. My mom was onstage to welcome JFK, and was pissed at how the local Repubs swarmed all over him, knowing they'd vote for Nixon, as would the parents of the high school girls that I recruited. JFK being a Catholic was almost as bad as Obama's skin color at that time YET, there used to be "good" Republicans in those days. When either party was "the loyal opposition," things got done. The shift against that has occurred over the last few decades is tragic. I certainly blame Mitch McConnell for the traitorous opposition to Obama . In touch with some liberal friends from Kentucky, where I once lived, I've heard that McConnell is a slick and subtle racist. True or not, that does make sense. It does seem that there might be a few decent Repubs coming up, but "decent" and Republican in the same sentence is increasingly hard to believe since they became the party of obstruction, starting with Bill Clinton and frenzied with Barack Obama.

(82,849 posts)The Big Reveal of the evidence was supposed to happen by March 29. Well, March 29 has come and gone, and President Trump hasn't shown anything but his immaturity.

(7,241 posts)Obama did nothing to him but crack some jokes during a roast, treated him with more respect than he deserved during the handover, has been very restrained in the face of the stupid attempts to misrepresent and hamfistedly dismantle his legacy and the ginormous lie of an allegation that he illegally tapped Trump, and HE STILL LIVES RENT-FREE IN TRUMP'S HEAD 24/7.

(2 posts)So, I've never posted on any political sites before, though I read this and a few others religiously. I'm an artist so I'm pretty busy and really enjoy following along as I can. In the last couple months, the Russia stories have kept my eyes glued to the screen more than usual.
As a kid I loved reading spy novels and this whole ordeal is even crazier than any story I've ever read. Usually in the stories, there is some kind of code that is used to pass info along when lines of communication have been shut down.
A fellow artists and painter and I were talking today and the time of Trumps tweets kept coming up. Why is gen tweeting at 3:24 in the morning. Who is really his audience and why is it so important to tweet at that time. My friend wondered how his grammar wasn't edited and how much he brings up bizarre things.
We wondered if there was some kind of code in his tweets that could be deciphered.
And we talked about his all caps today. Since, it's such a hit on the right wing to scream in all caps, what if he used the capped words as codes. It would seem like he was just being crazy and right wing, but he seems to target specific letters.
So by taking all of his capped letters in today's tweet we get WSECTNOSSFTR.
Since we do lots of crosswords and word games and we're thinking about the days events and senate hearings and Clinton Watts testimony, we "unscrambled" the letters and got CWS ROSFNET.
Seems like the CW could refer to Clinton Watts and the Rosfnet seems pretty obvious to anyone who has been following the story...
Maybe we're just puzzle solvers or nerds and this is just CT, but is there anyone journalistically looking into this? It seems like too weird of a coincidence? I apologize if this is CT just wondering?
L. Coyote
(51,129 posts)Not that everyone who uses it knows this. Some newbie typists use all caps to avoid the shift key.
Typos are the best code because almost everybidy nakes them.

(2 posts)I was wondering about that too. I was looking at the Steele dossier, because when you need a break from painting, it can be a good gauge of the accuracy of his intel and the pieces falling into place.
I saw and read that he had misspelled the deceased Russian ambassadors name, which seemed a little weird because of his accuracy in every other nugget. It was covered and seemed a weird thing for the press to cover. Kulagin was misspelled for Kalugin.
phonetically, that sounds a lot like collusion... would that kind of tiny error and its slight blip in media coverage also be some kind of signal?
fleabiscuit
(4,542 posts)If I give you a document with the name spelled Kulagin and it ends up in a foreign dossier I could infer you were part of the trail. People may then be found dead from a "heart attack" in the trunk of a car with a bullet in the noggin.
