KKK fliers dispersed in Perkins 4/1/2017

PERKINS TWP. — Perkins police commanders launched an investigation on Saturday to determine who disseminated racially insensitive materials in a residential neighborhood.

At least one person dropped bags containing white rice and Ku Klux Klan leaflets on about a dozen front yards within the 800 block of W. Strub Road near Perkins High School.

Each handbill features the name of an organization, calling itself The Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

“The flier was observed to talk about drug and alcohol abuse, along with a phone number to call,” according to a township police report.

Perkins Township trustee Tim Coleman alerted police about the issue, which triggered an investigation.

“This is disgusting,” Coleman said. “Someone thinks they can do this? And in Perkins Township? That makes me sick to my stomach.”

It’s not known what leads the department has in hopes of catching whoever’s responsible for this.
