And tacky. If I had the $$ I wouldn't decorate like that. Mine would be simple, but in good taste. Early America, Colonial, is something I'd do.

Anyone who has visited real wealth knows they live with often threadbare antiques and can boast "George Washington sat there." They don't buy furniture, they inherit it. Most of them drove Toyotas once they were out of their 20s. The houses are large and the servants quiet and efficient. Nothing is gilt or faux, it's all genuine.

This place is beyond tacky, surfaces encrusted with gilt and marble, the furniture brand new reproductions. It's just as fake as its owner is. It looks like they got some of the junk a decorator couldn't even manage to sell to Limbaugh.

Enjoy the tour. Note that Melania is seen as part of the furniture: http://www.idesignarch.com/inside-donald-and-melania-trumps-manhattan-apartment-mansion/

ETA: my own style runs to Shaker although I can't afford it, so I live in Early Thrift Shop surroundings.
