This whole "Rapture" thing makes sense now!
All those good Christian Republicans have been raptured, but only their souls were taken to heaven. The animated bodies left behind have no souls. That explains why their beliefs and policies are so inhuman. They truly are empty, soulless hulks left behind by the Rapture.
