(15,543 posts)They occupy a stolen White House, a stolen Senate majority, and many repube seats in the House.
We are being "governed" badly by an illegal cabal of republican comrades who clearly do not respect and will not defend America from Russian Acts of War*

certainot
(9,090 posts)trump in the white house is the dems/left's incredible continued insistence on ignoring rw talk radio, the only real advantage the right/republicans have in all this and the only reason trump is in the white house.

(51,129 posts)Where, in solid red states that never vote blue anyway?
certainot
(9,090 posts)the tea party is the talk radio party, trump's base is the talk radio base
at a cheap $1000/hr x 15hrs/day x 1200 stations, rw talk radio is worth 4.68 BIL$/ year or 390MIL$ /month FREE for coordinated global warming denial, pro republican wall st think tank propaganda, free market deregulation bullshit, swiftboating, and the hate and fear used to get people to vote republican.
ignoring that, while whining about "money in politics", is the biggest political mistake in history

(51,129 posts)Seriously, education has more impact that radios. But, do you blame the schools?
certainot
(9,090 posts)to support them. they attack teachers and teachers unions.
while they fight efforts to reduce student debt relief they're waving the sports logos of those schools - pretty fucking stupid to let them do that, yet we have, for 30 years.
those stations help elect school regents and decide who is and isn't 'acceptable' for uni pres and chancellor!
pretty fucking silly..... higher ed, shooting itself in the foot while their students turn up the music and complain about tuition and debt and global warming and talk radio presidents and wars and media deregulation and money in politics.
and those stations yell over protests at state capitols for weeks after the protestors go home

(9,090 posts)traitors all day from every corner and stump in 40 states (with 80 senators), and they have been for 30 years, and waiting for mom and pop to compete with wall mart is a losing formula and sure fire way to get a president like trump - especially when they coordinate with putin

(7,358 posts)They dumped the 'fairness doctrine' and RW Talk permeates all talk radio markets. But I will say that where Liberal Talk has been pushed out .. the internet has taken its place in terms of getting the truth out .. case in point Randi Rhodes.
certainot
(9,090 posts)those stations will soon be selling the next war, like they sold the last one for bush.
the objective is to get the uni community into a discussion on looking for apolitical alternatives to broadcast sports on. even if the university does nothing the gop will freak out, media will notice, and advertisers will flee those stations. other unis will get shamed into the same. the rw radio monopoly/psyops will fall apart - trump will be gone a lot sooner.
without rw radio the GOP has nothing. monitor it, put a RUSH tattoo on all republicans foreheads, boycott all their stations/talkers, protest the stations and especially the unis that support 257 limbaugh stations.
257 Limbaugh stations are endorsed by at least 88 major universities
.. - they need to be included in protests.
talk radio is the only major medium with no significant political counterpart on the left - in every other medium there are alts a click away. internet does not compete directly with talk radio - in most parts of the country there are no free easy alts for politics while driving or working- it is a propaganda operation.

Even when a reasonable person would say it's a fact, the standard for criminal law is "beyond a reasonable doubt", i.e. no doubts at all.

Russia was into voter d-bases in Wisconsin @ the county level.

And did Ryan and company also used the data that the Russians got by hacking?

(15,286 posts)If you haven't already done so, read Jane Mayer's reporting on Trump's main financier the Mercer family. Towards the end, she writes about Cambridge Analytics and how it can be used to micro-target voters.

(11,996 posts)They already have info on 220 million Americans.
I imagine the info on 3 million or so someone got (legally or not?) from Facebook helps the micro-targeting on that site, and supposedly the voter databases from key states would help too in those arenas (the hacking of which would be an/the actual crime - i.e. Russia?)
We Call This Behavioral Microtargeting

I don't know what you mean about their not needing it. Of course it would have been very valuable to them.

(6,916 posts)If CA did either of those two things this administration is toast.
And I would be shocked if they did not coordinate with Russia given all the ties to manafort and Stone. And all the dirty money Trump took from Russia for his properties.
This administration is over. It's just a question of when, and whether Gorsuch will get confirmed (no tax or healthcare legislation will ever make it through house and Senate), and whether Pence and Ryan go down too or not.

(8,322 posts)However, the most valuable asset listed on Mr. Bannons disclosure forms was Bannon Strategic Advisors Inc., a privately held consulting firm that was valued at $5 million to $25 million. [...]
The disclosure reveals more than was previously known about his ties to Cambridge Analytica, where he was vice president of the board: He had a stake in the company that he valued at $1 million to $5 million, which he plans to sell.

(55,894 posts)And they aren't the ones that swung the blue states Clinton was counting on as her firewall.
Also, a lot of states have voter registration public.
Lastly, Cambridge Analytics did not need Russian help in compiling their data.

(6,916 posts)The illegality in Arizona and Illinois will be plenty for the FBI to bring down this administration.
And then we'll have to work as a society on how to prevent internet trolling, fake news, and foreign propaganda. If we're lucky that process will also sink the domestic propaganda of Fox and conserva-hate radio.

(108,980 posts)for example - though the GOP governor downplayed it.
They think nothing happened because their system was so decentralized, and because it would have been "obvious" if the rolls had been changed.
They didn't even acknowledge the fact that the data could have been copied and transmitted elsewhere.

(6,916 posts)She claims to have been forced out at the new Murdoch conservative lying website for being too anti-GOP.
And she has been right on all the FISA stuff, saying correctly that a warrant was issued against foriegn agents he was talking to, based on the Alfa Bank server. And she predicted some of the Senate disclosures this week on Russian paid trolling and hacking.
Now, granted, some of the above might have been public info.
But my gut is that the voter roll hacking will be traced back to Russia and to this administration. And i think that will bring down these GOP liars.
We will see.
