(26,268 posts)Flint is, historically, an extremely Blue area. Pretty much all of the representation in this area (city and township), is Democratic - our Senators, Congressman, State Senator, State Rep, city, and township elected officials. Most of the city and township offices were either uncontested, and stayed with the Democrats, or just had Democrats running. And most of the voting margins were substantial.
All things considered, I doubt that there were many living under the delusion that trump* would actually do anything for Flint.

(1,129 posts)Trumptopian view of Problem:
Lead in Flint water is hazardous to health
Because
EPA says Lead is hazardous
Trumptopian Cause/Effect determination:
Lead is a hazard because of EPA
Therefore
Lead in Flint water is hazard because of EPA
Lead not a hazard if no EPA
Therefore
No hazard in Flint water if no EPA
Trumptopian solution:
Eliminate EPA
No EPA = No Problem
