Anyone else find it ironic the MSM profited by promoting Rump & then after he stole the election

is now hugely profiting over the avalanche of news stories covering him? To me it would be tantamount to a drug company creating a disease and then making billions over the sale of the drug to treat the very same disease they created in the first place.

What a world!

Competence and hard work are boring, ergo the MSM hated Hillary for not being an entertaining performer.

The MSM had been becoming more and more about profits and excitement prior to the election, to compete with the internet etc. I think Trump and Hillary being covered the way they were was essentially preordained. I think most of the people in the industry lost sight of themselves and expected Trump to be a joke forever (I'll admit, I did too). I think when the big bosses upstairs started seeing increased profits they thought to themselves "hmm... that's interesting... guess we'll keep doing what we're doing".

Nobody was introspective enough to realize the damage they were causing. Nobody expected Hitler-esque lugenpresse sentiments to be so fervently perpetuated by the president of the united states. Coining the terms "fake news" was an avalanche that can only be effectively avoided in hindsight. At that's what we're doing now, engaging in hindsight.

CEOs are smart.

Take this from CBS CEO Moonves in Feb 2016:

"It may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS," he said of the presidential race.

Moonves called the campaign for president a "circus" full of "bomb throwing," and he hopes it continues.

"Most of the ads are not about issues. They're sort of like the debates," he said.

"Man, who would have expected the ride we're all having right now? ... The money's rolling in and this is fun," he said.

"I've never seen anything like this, and this going to be a very good year for us. Sorry. It's a terrible thing to say. But, bring it on, Donald. Keep going," said Moonves.

"It Might Not Be Good for America, But It's Good for Us": How the Media Got Rich on Trump's Rise

Earlier this year, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves openly bragged that the network is getting rich off Donald Trump’s run for the White House. "It may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS. … [T]he money’s rolling in … [T]his is going to be a very good year for us." Moonves went on to say, "It’s a terrible thing to say, but bring it on, Donald. Go ahead. Keep going."

Their model is to make money. Ratings makes money.

The mainstream media gave up on journalism a long time ago.

Li'l Donnie was and still is all about spectacle. That is how he has lived his entire life. The MSM base thrives on spectacle, so they have no choice but to cover his histrionics.

Can you imagine being so habituated to spectacle as lifestyle that all of this is "normal"?

concerning the great military commander Hannibal. When amassing his armies in a conquest to destroy Rome he came
upon two factions in strife upon each other. When both sides explained their situation, he was asked for his opinion on who
was right or wrong. It was a simple matter for Hannibal because he didn't give a damn. He would go with the side that could help him the most, even though they were the bigger asshole in this matter.

It's a disgusting, immoral way to create news - putting their bottom-line profits above our democracy.
