I have not logged on since the election and have forced myself not to comment on DU since. I felt that DU might have been subject to Russian hack on Election Day. So, I have just read "latest posts" daily.
I have begun to notice threads now discussing if women and children lives are more important than men or bashing Dems over the filibuster, which makes me suspicious that DU is under attack big time by the same trolls that took over the news comment sections before election.
DU only has one choice, make members contribute $10 to join DU or you cannot start a thread. There must be some self-defense because DU has been infiltrated by the trolls I fear.
Good luck!

(37,748 posts)One trollish-sounding post of questionable sincerity does not a pattern make.
Policy discussion, regardless of party-sponsorship, is a necessary part and parcel of DU.
A petulant criticism here, or some name calling there has been on DU since 2001.

(39,343 posts)If we were infested by trolls I bet the FSB could pony up $10 a user to jump your hurdle.
Just alert on them like crazy and they take care of themselves. Log on so you can be on juries and do your part.
Welcome back.

I get your fear of trolls though and I wonder sometimes if they are the ones starting old primary wars here.

If things get out of control, then let's revisit your suggestion. But we've survived a lot without mandating a charge.
