Ugh! That type of hair-splitting only distracts from the fact that Trump isn't a strong reader, and that he needs "picture books" and small words to help him to understand (partially?) what's going on in the nation and the world.

Why would anyone want to bury the headline of Trump's incompetence by honing in on some meaningless "technicality" like who actually gave the instructions. On this particular matter, minutiae of who ordered what and when is a bit irrelevant isn't it?

Who CARES who gave the order? (This isn't a congressional hearing.) The fact that he's too dumb to comprehend without the equivalent of a large print Illustrated Children's Reader is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING!!

defined. By my own fairly tough definition -- the ability of citizens to read newspapers and journals easily enough to not be dissuaded from reading them, he may be.

Rump might be semiliterate by my definition, but its cause and his bigger problem may well be because of what a number of people have described as a serious attention deficit problem. Just imagine him trying to plow through just the first page of a, say, The Atlantic article. Much less the kind of stuff presidents need to absorb.

Btw, last I read (no expert here), the idea of "auditory," "kinesthetic," etc. learners, as opposed to visual, is at very least overstated. We're all more equally visual learners than the faddish notions have pushed. I do know some people I used to "memo" would rather reliably corner me in a hallway to discuss what they said face to face, but scientists say it's for other reasons. In other words, baloney for this excuse.
