"President Donald Trump wavered in his support for White House aide and strategist Steve Bannon in an interview with The New York Post on Tuesday, following stories of a rift forming between Bannon and Trumps son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
"I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late," Trump said."
...
Trump announced the hiring of Bannon and adviser Kellyanne Conway as part of the Trump campaign on Aug. 17, 2016. Heres what he said at that time:
"I have known Steve and Kellyanne both for many years. They are extremely capable, highly qualified people who love to win and know how to win," Trump said. "I believe were adding some of the best talents in politics, with the experience and expertise needed to defeat Hillary Clinton in November and continue to share my message and vision to Make America Great Again. I am committed to doing whatever it takes to win this election, and ultimately become President because our country cannot afford four more years of the failed Obama-Clinton policies which have endangered our financial and physical security."
So, in Trumps own words he either "didnt know Steve," or he has "known Steve
for many years."
One of those claims is clearly wrong."

The weasel on Trumps head whispers in his ear on these occasions.

(16,104 posts)a remarkable disassociation from the truth and facts.
He really is a pathological liar and is quite obviously a sociopath.

(115,813 posts)This is not a good omen for Bannon's continuing to work at the WH, but Bannon is a vengeful bastard, just like SCROTUS himself, and he knows a lot. Maybe too much.

(58,785 posts)Otoh, he may be far too compromised himself.
"I have known Steve and Kellyanne both for many years." Since being introduced in 2011 and having a continuing relationship thereafter with Bannon, who early on thought he could use Rump to make a big, national bang. With his relationships with Rump and Mercer, Roger Stone, many others, how likely is it that he wasn't very aware of most that went on in Rump's camp and even occasionally involved in some way?

If this ever becomes a made for TV movie or a Hollywood movie, Alec Baldwin should play tЯump and Russel Crowe (after a 50 lb wt gain) should play Bannon.. He could be his doppelgänger..
