The only such incident of its kind in American history: by any measure agreed upon by both sides until the Supreme Court cemented our first coup, he was elected by both the popular vote and electoral vote but has not served his term.
This is technically true. Tragically factual. We're in the center of a different kind of coup, but it is all predicated on the willingness of conservatives to tolerate cheating and violence as political tactic. Just like 2000.
He'd be a kick-ass President.

(160,542 posts)It's just lately, I have been given a word, Neoliberalism. As far as I can tell, for a Democratic Socialist such as myself, Neoliberalism is Democratic death by a thousand cuts as opposed to what we are facing now, fascism and a North Korean Nuclear bomb being dropped on the NW coast.
Which is better? Slow death by a thousand cuts or nuclear annihilation? Rhetorical, I promise.

(22,976 posts)I mean that honestly. He would have been terrific. It's also probable that 9/11 wouldn't have happened, as I don't see Gore and his team ignoring the available intel. There certainly would NOT have been an invasion of Iraq.
Right-wing radicals have re-routed history twice now (that we know of). It should never happen again.
