(11,869 posts)(BONUS8) Once Trump began getting classified briefings post-election, why didn't CI tell him about Page? Is it because Trump's a target too?

Twitter is the new global political democracy, driven by users and a threat to autocratic power, thus all the bots trying to tilt the wind. In time the bot problem will be overcome too, but meanwhile you have sufficient control anyway if you know how to use it. Get on board and try to keep up.

(43,182 posts)It has its uses and I do follow it (but I don't post on it), but perhaps the fact that I think brevity is overrated is the reason I'm naturally turned off by Twitter.

Alternatively, the government may seek a court order permitting the surveillance using the FISA court.[18] Approval of a FISA application requires the court find probable cause that the target of the surveillance be a "foreign power" or an "agent of a foreign power", and that the places at which surveillance is requested is used or will be used by that foreign power or its agent.[2][19] In addition, the court must find that the proposed surveillance meet certain "minimization requirements" for information pertaining to U.S. persons.[20] Depending on the type of surveillance, approved orders or extensions of orders may be active for 90 days, 120 days, or a year.

(Final note: Page even lied to Anderson Cooper on his Russian fluency. Watch at 30:50 of the vid above as he understands Russian perfectly.)

Page was wearing an earpiece which was presumably connected to a Russian-English Translator.

(595 posts)I can't understand why he even went on. He wouldn't answer any question, even who brought him into the Trump inner circle. If I was his Lawyer, Id be very worried.
When asked whether he discussed backing off of sanctions, he first said no I only said hello to one person, to stating he can't say he didn't talk about them as he can't remember most of his conversations.
