Stress?

Visiting nurse came by for my scheduled re-eval. One of the questions was, “Have you been experiencing any stress?” She was a bit startled when I burst out laughing, but I told her that it was surprising that the question even needed to be asked. Then I started with the November election and went on from there, and she nodded in understanding. She told me that most of their clients are increasingly stressed for the same reasons. Fear is a potent stressor. And fear is the unavoidable outcome when you tell seniors and the chronically ill and the disabled that their lifelines are being cut, especially when those cuts will pay for more tax breaks for people who don’t need them. Do we need to mention that anger is also stressful?

There are plenty of healthy beings who are feeling plenty of anxiety as well.

Listen there is a growing feeling that Trump is mentally challenged and when a mentally challenged aggressive fake warrior has control of a nuclear arsenal ? Need i say more..

But, for me, this hasn't risen to the stress level of a Cuban Missile Crisis. Yet.

with the aggressive military base building on reefs in the South China Sea, the continuing attitude toward Taiwan, China buying real estate in the U.S., and our debt to China, they have to be a concern.

That, plus, they'd be a most formidable enemy in any war.

I know I regaled my doc with my anxieties at my annual. When asked if i thought I needed therapy or meds as long as I still had insurance, I told her I would wait and see.

She said my situation was very frequent amongst her patients of all ages. She couldn't help the situation itself, but was ready to support and direct me to help, whether to a psychologist or prescription for a mild med and to call for a referral if I thought I needed more help.

She knows me well after so many years and trusts that I will be honest about my feelings.

I am so lucky to be with a trusted doc and on Medicare and so far, with a good supplemental that I can afford.

war-mongering). Sometimes I try to calm them sometimes but I feel like chiming in. Sometimes I can only shake my head and agree because the stuff they say is so obviously correct. Many used to be in the middle or some even Republican or unconcerned but most are mad as hell and never going to vote for another Republican. The most outspoken used to be an active skinhead when he was in prison but sure doesn't sound like it now. He was just talking about how Trump and the Republicans are not for mental health issues and are going to screw them over.
