Like any good king, Trump claims to be above the law.

Here is a link to the story in The Hill. A short, quick read. It is also in the WaPo and Politico.

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/328956-trump-claims-hes-immune-from-lawsuit-over-inciting-violence-at

Basically, he says because he is president he can't be sued for inciting violence at a campaign rally in Louisville in March 2016. Courts earlier allowed this suit to move forward on other grounds. I'm betting it will move forward again.

As for Trump and Company, GET 'EM OUTTA HERE.

Wasn't it Richard Nixon said, "If the president does it, that means it is not illegal?"

Perfect role model!

Lawsuits are used in civil law, not criminal law. So of course Trump can be sued.
Depending on the circumstances it might be possible for him to delay civil action while he's in office.

But he's only been President* for about 2 -1/2 months and he's already settled several lawsuits in that time.
It's been reported here on DU also. One had to do with Trump University damages from bankruptcy.
Another had to do with his ownership of the hotel in Washington DC and his competitive advantage over other hotels.

Trump employs a whole bevy of law firms to handle his lawsuits and that didn't change when he became President*.

There's a precedent, ya know. Richard Nixon said "If a President does it, it's not illegal".
