the Dems in Congress need to pass a law stating that any Presidential candidate MUST submit their tax returns in order to run.

The purpose of a protest is to send a message to Govt officials and/or the public. And while I think he should release his taxes, there wasn't any purpose to protesting it now. Trump won't listen, people who voted for Clinton don't need to be convinced, and people who voted for Trump decided last year that they don't care.
