who sponsored a bill requiring women who want abortions to be showed ultrasounds of their fetus. That's not getting it.

Perhaps the strangest thing about this is that Sanders isn't vouching for Ossoff's progressivism even as he's doing so for another Democrat of pretty questionable credentials. That would be Omaha mayoral candidate and former state senator Heath Mello, whom Sanders will campaign with Thursday.

As the Wall Street Journal's Reid J. Epstein and Natalie Andrews note, Mello in 2009 sponsored a bill that would require a woman to look at ultrasound images of her fetus before undergoing an abortion (he still opposes abortion rights). Indeed, it's tough to think of something that progressives would hate more.

This is the second pro-life candidate he has endorsed. I have supported precisely none; nor will I change on that. The equal rights of half the population of this country are not optional.

It speaks volumes about how women are valued and respected. He might be showing us who is is...When someone shows you who they are...believe them! Best advice my dad ever gave me.

Thanks dad. I miss you.

However, the guy who endorsed is a different case...he helped the pro-choice candidates ...surely there were better options...thus I would never vote for the person who endorsed this candidate for anything again.

what about just every day people? Who happen to be white? Do their lives matter? Because that's what I am and I am sick and tired of the narrative that all these other lives matter but my life, my 12 year old daughter's life and my wife's life doesn't matter because we are not in a particular racial or social group that matters more.

You have always been in a racial and social group that mattered more. Saying that other groups matter does not take anything away from the value of your life.

You don't matter because people of color are valued more? What is it about equal rights that you feel excludes you?

Or are you saying you want a party that prioritizes whiteness and maleness above women and people of color? Whites earning 7 to 8 times the income of people of color isn't enough of an advantage for you to not feel oppressed because others have some limited opportunities?

such a powerful statement. Because for such a long time black lives were just a statistic, not making the news when kidnapped or shot. It is a wake up call to the world. Some of my ancestors came to Nova Scotia and had to spend a year working off their ship's passage costs. Then they got to work for themselves and vote and have a government that cared for them and wanted them to thrive. They got the vote as soon as voting was invented. They got jobs. And good schools. And they were not terrorized. No police tried to break their noses with a club because they wanted to same things as everybody else. No political party made them the scapegoats for 100 years and then switched to another political party that made them a scapegoat for the next 100 years. Up to today. And they were all white. They always mattered. 'Black Lives Matter' is just a statement of pulling even. Let that ring out for a bit. Without interrupting.

as an attack instead of what it is - an expression that black lives matter in a country where racism has dominated the treatment of black people.

That white chip you wear on your shoulder is preventing you from seeing the honesty of the phrase.

You give yourself away with the words

... but what about just every day people?

What? POC are not everyday people?

Please.
