And as for labels, they been a part of human history. It's not like this is something new.

What it does is explain that people do it and feel the need to do it. Not anything to do with what makes them feel the need.


If you like labels you t certainly not alone. Personally I find them ridiculous in most situations as people are individuals and don't easily fit into boxes.

Mostly what I think they are is a convenient way for people to point at other people for one reason or another. Both from inside and outside the labeled group.

Mostly what I think it comes down to is an attempt to validate one's own opinions.

to my son the other night. Not that he didn't know what it meant. I was actually explaining me, the bleeding heart liberal. It's probably a little different for each of us but for me it is physically and emotionally, literally feeling other people's pain. It's not something I chose. It chose me.

Here's to our bleeding hearts and your P.R.I.D.E. flag!
