(20,818 posts)a mother, stepfather AND father who were ALL English teachers! I never had any peace, lol. Although it did give me my love of reading and writing and being able now, as an adult, to bug others with the same grammar Nazi stuff, lol.

(6,537 posts)but had to be shut away from the public so her therapy could be conducted in a more aggressive, intensive way. The doctors don't have much hope, though. They say the damage to her psyche was far too devastating. The trauma was overwhelming to her brain's fragile synapses. There's a chance that they will fire no more. All we can do is pray.

(2,272 posts)Why not someone from the Park service? Or maybe a Geologist ...... I mean, I've read a lot of Science Fiction and many dystopian novels but I'm not a English major AND I can spell, halfway at least

(6,537 posts)some tend to indulge in stream of consciousness writing, which is kind of like this sign. Of course, these traits aren't exclusive to English majors nor is reading science fiction. Didn't mean to offend; it was a joke.
As for the Park Ranger, I think the writer meant that in the dystopian novels he or she reads (looks like a she in the picture) the resistance leaders tend to be a bit more fire in the belly, like Che. Not the stereotype we have of the kindly, helpful park ranger who loves the natural world and the animals who inhabit it. Of course, this is bullshit and a park ranger can be as fierce a resister as anyone else, but that wouldn't make for a funny and very effective sign.
