I have to hand it to Nancy Pelosi.

She's a smart woman. I listened to her MTP interview, and Chuck Todd asked her if the Democrats would be willing to negotiate with the Republicans by voting for a package with funding for the wall if the Republicans funded Obamacare. She said no money for a wall. That Trump talking about a wall comes from a position of weakness because he cannot control the border.

Every Democratic politician needs to frame Trump's moves in just this way. He can't do his job, he's weak.

It will infuriate him.

With this.

First, it's fucking despicable.

Second, these scumbags will NOT keep their end of the bargain, they will either find another way to defund it or straight up not keep their end of the "deal."

This is like the scene in every mob related movie, your dead, no reason to tell them what they want to hear.

The republicans caused the shutdown by balking on financial promises that they'd previously made. For some reason, the Obama administration could not articulate accurately.

Pelosi did an excellent job by framing the narrative.

Now, we have to protect against journalists on these tv showing spewing their, "Both sides are responsible" views all over the airwaves. That's exactly what the repubs are trying to do.

Pelosi has been the subject of nonstop smears since she was elected speaker.

And now they are trying to do the same to Warren. Don't let it happen. Keep standing up for strong successful Dems.

She does not mess around. She gets stuff done. Her tenure as Speaker towers over the two CONjobs who followed her. HER effectiveness has humiliated both John Boehner AND the reprehensible apostate Paul Ryan.

SHE knew how to count votes. SHE knew when they could get something passed and when it would fail. And SHE knew enough not to risk pushing something that would likely fail, which would earn some well-deserved public embarrassment. Along the way, I'll bet everybody's heard various versions of " Nancy Pelosi wouldn't have made that mistake" or "when Nancy Pelosi was Speaker, this kind of blunder didn't happen." And that would be correct. She was a VERY smart Speaker of the House. She remains a VERY smart Democratic leader. And the only significant things these two jackasses who followed her have accomplished - is to make her look good, better, and even better still.

And when she was Speaker, she ordered a change in the Congressional work week. You went to work on MONDAY MORNING. You stayed in DC to continue your work - til FRIDAY AFTERNOON. PERIOD. None of this lazy GOP entitlement crap: stroll in sometime Tuesday, work a full day Wednesday, then bail out about noon on Thursday for yet another nice long leisurely weekend back at home. For the CONS, they prefer the half-day/full-day/another-half-day work "week". Nice job if one can get it, 'eh? And YOU'RE paying for it.

GOD I HATE THE GOP!!!!!!!!!!

A significant majority are not fans of the wall. The Democrats should use this issue to beat Trump up. He's stuck with a stupid, unpopular idea that he's made his trademark. If Congress shuts down over Trump's wall, he'll drop in the polls every day.

I've never heard such a good on-point and artful response to a touchy issue before, that I can recall.

Glad the Dems are holding firm on Obamacare. In the end, the Republicans will screw them, anyway. Remember that the Dems took almost 200 REPUBLICAN amendments to the ACA. The result of that was NOT ONE REPUBLICAN VOTED FOR IT. The Democrats have learned.

If the country doesn't fund Obamacare, the Dems can't do it alone, anyway. So the Republicans need to own that, if they send some Americans to their deaths for lack of medical care, and cause many more to suffer.

The Republicans are banking on the Dems trying to prevent that from happening. I would have a hard time w/that. But in the end, the Dems don't have the power to stop what the Republicans want to do, anyway.

Go, Pelosi.
