(13,081 posts)The WH needs to know what Comey knew, and Trump was getting too nervous. He's a total wimp, which is painfully obvious to anyone who's not a wimp, and he doesn't have the guts for his crimes, his job, or anything else.

(51,129 posts)I don't know anyone doing serious research in academia that doesn't take precautions to preserve data somehow. Imagine how thorough that process has to be when governed by lots of laws requiring it.

Multiple encrypted copies. Distributed widely with public/private keys.
Careful checking of malware/keyboard/USB hacks.
Special proxies, multiple/random routes (TOR but better).
Shielded Bluetooth, IR, other bands.
No standard mobile phone techs.
No ability to read sound/light waves through glass/other material.
Etc./etc./etc.
Unlike the fakir who was plopped into this role.

(51,129 posts)Firing Comey seems to have turned the government into a colander, very leaky.

(9,670 posts)His underhanded declassification of Comey's letter to Congress ended up disrupting the election and left Comey as the scapegoat.

(11,094 posts)I hope Comey assumed some might try to access investigation information and took appropriate steps to protect what he had.

(269 posts)Chump was too stupid to keep it a secret. He tweeted about the possibility weeks ago. Comey has the dirt. And speculation is he is no longer bound by executive privelidge.

(15,412 posts)if they had fired him while in DC, the would have come with security guards and taken him off premises immediately. Every employer does it these days so to avoid screwing with the computer/data base/programs.
Makes no difference if he's in town or not.
