manipulated a meeting with Comey to find out what was happening with the investigation. Finding he was too close to the truth, they decided to fire him and make up an excuse! DAMN!

(56,828 posts)that have spoken out or written strongly against Trump. However, they're not in Congress, so are not beholden to Koch Brothers money and not fearful of Trump's Deplorable brownshirts. Unfortunately, other than making Democrats feel good, "See, even a Republican agrees with us!" it hasn't amounted to much of anything.

They all agreed Pence was lying as well!

(7,768 posts)Which was: Trump at the White House posing and smiling with two top Russian thugs.
He pointed out that Trump took Putin's advice by EXCLUDING U.S. media and only allowing Russian journalists to attend their meeting!
Mike Barnicle said that Putin actually scored SEVEN, not six, goals playing hockey yesterday. The SEVENTH goal he scored is THAT photo on newspaper's front pages all across the U.S.
Also alarming to the panel is the fact that Russian cameras and recording equipment was allowed in the Oval Office!
Could this be a security breach, they wondered?
Basically, all their minds are blown...it's like "WHAT THE FUCK"?

(6,360 posts)Don't have TV. Did they actually learn anything directly from Comey about the investigation. Or did they conclude by his evasiveness that he must be close. ?
Sorry - I don't usually ask for clarification but this chit is driving me f'ing crazy and I hate not keeping up.

(423 posts)It's really starting to sound like he was pressured into signing off on this shit (tho his memo stops well short of actually saying Comey should be fired)
He isn't happy about it either. I'm seeing reports all over that Rosenstein threatened to resign.

(19,956 posts)to come to their senses and stop Trump NOW, or the "Republican Party will be hammered in the Midterms, Nancy Pelosi will be speaker with a whole lot to spare, and it will take a long, long time for the Republican Party to recover"
At that point, Mika sticks her head across and says "Not that that matters right now" ..... Loved it !

(22,913 posts)Scarborough is a narcissist, but not crazed like Trump. He actually is bright and he thinks very highly of himself. He is clearly a Republican, who is to the right of the old Bob Dole school of Republicans, which makes him somewhat moderate by contemporary Republican standards. However "Moderate" Republican vote with right wing Republican 90% of the time.
Joe's value as a political commentator come from all the inside connections and sources he still has within the Republican Party. He can only stray off the reservation a certain amount of the time or he burns important political bridges. So he swerves back and forth drunkenly between mouthing the party line and challenging it.
But he doesn't have to run for elections anymore and fund raise to do so, or make deals to get support for pet legislation, so he is more free to sometimes be critical of Republicans than other so called moderates in that Party who hold office. He was once close to Trump and rode that connection to big ratings. He therefore has blood on his hands and is defensive over that.
He remains a political creature but I do think he understands that Trump is now undermining our Democracy and I believe he has genuine concerns over that. He is also smart enough to know that Trump is leading the Republican Party down a rabbit hole to an election massacre.
