Mr. Comey started receiving daily instead of weekly updates on the investigation, beginning at least three weeks ago, according to people with knowledge of the matter and the progress of the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe. Mr. Comey was concerned by information showing possible evidence of collusion, according to these people.
White House officials said Wednesday that Mr. Trump had for months been contemplating the possibility of removing Mr. Comey, and that the dismissal this week wasnt connected to the Russian probe.

WASHINGTONIn the weeks before President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, a federal investigation into potential collusion between Trump associates and the Russian government was heating up, as Mr. Comey became increasingly occupied with the probe.
Meanwhile, a congressional investigation into Russian meddling picked up steam as the Senate Intelligence Committee issued a subpoena Wednesday for the presidents former national security adviser, Mike Flynn, to produce documents relevant to the investigation. And a federal grand jury in Northern Virginia has issued subpoenas for records tied to Mr. Flynn, according to a person familiar with the matter.

(26,291 posts)gave to Trump so I am wondering if his advisers were advised by their advisers (some of whom might be in Congress in elected office) to remove him because they were afraid the investigation might be coming to close to them?
That could be the real reason for it because before Trump was all for Comey so this actually might be a case of members of Congress seeking the head of the FBIs removal because they were growing concerned that something they did might be discovered and for them to take that step must mean its a pretty big thing they did if they are concerned enough to take the step to remove Comey.

(61,622 posts)In the waning days of oil, Putin sees a way to amass unimaginable wealth. The U.S. sanctions are standing in his way.
Putin needed Trump - whom he owns - in the White House and he needs his allies in charge of Congress.
That incentive buys a lot of stolen elections. Whatever it takes.

(3,847 posts)for more money is what got him fired. If he hadn't asked I don't think the Orange Maggot would realize how close he is to getting impeached and tried as a traitor.

(5,754 posts)That's because his projects in Russia were turned down. "With Russia" or "with Russians" is an entirely different story.

(23,102 posts)He's so freaking senile and has unbelievably self-important, he couldn't let others take credit for "his" firing (which he enjoys so much) because he wants to be seen as the biggest bad ass. He can't even keep to the same lie, but makes up a whole raft of new ones, including the lie that Comey asked for a dinner meeting when it was Drumpf himself who asked. Oh, and the made up, on the spot?, new lies about Comey's so called clearance, that he wasn't being investigated. This time he made up the times, just to bolster the obvious lie.
I just wished I had faith that this travesty would end, but right now can't see a good outcome. Russia will just steal the next election for him as well if he hasn't given them everything they want before then.
