How Trump's firing of Comey is drawing comparisons to Nixon, according to cartoons

Most any political cartoonist worth his or her SALT knowledge has a go-to caricature of President Nixon in their muscle memory. Now, it seems, many cartoonists will again be giving those Tricky Dick images a workout.

With President Trump’s “sudden removal of James B. Comey” as FBI director, terms like “Nixonian” and “Tuesday Afternoon Massacre” began filling the airwaves and social media. Even such renowned Nixon-era figures as John Dean offered comparisons to Nixon’s demands for top-level firings during Watergate.
