What if Nixon had had access to Twitter?

As a young lad, everywhere you went had a black & white tv (with rabbit ear antennae, and sometimes tin-foil) broadcasting the Watergate hearings live. Even places that didn't normally have teevees back then, like Friendly's, had a television in the corner broadcasting the hearings. Soap operas were pre-empted, causing outrage among the housewife set, but the hearings went on and on.

The Summer of Nixon probably shaped much of my political being (gee, ya think?). And now we're reliving it, but much worse, and with 24/7 news. And a moron president who tweets.

Can you imagine if Nixon had access to Twitter? And no Rosemary Wood to delete his last eighteen tweets?

4. Nixon wouldn't tweet

There would be a ho-hum presidential twitter account with photo-ops put out by staffers.

Obama had his own personal twitter, but it was quite benign. Reminders about the ACA enrollment deadline...sports..etc.

Nixon wouldn't even have his own personal account.
