How do you tell which lives matter in our society? When a teacher openly advocates for gay people (including, presumably, his students) to be put to death, the Mayor of the city says everyone should remain calm. Suppose a teacher openly advocated for killing all cops (including parents of some of his students)? Would the Mayor tell everyone to remain calm, or would the Mayor be banging on the School District's door, demanding the teacher be fired?

That's one way to tell whose lives matter in your town, county, state, nation, and society.

saying teachers as well as students “do not shed their First Amendment rights” at school.

“A bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment is that the government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea offensive or disagreeable,” San Luis Coastal Unified School District Superintendent Eric Prater and Principal Leslie O’Connor said in a joint statement Wednesday."

Oh for fuck's sake. You are not the federal government. What you are saying is that it's perfectly ok for this fucking asshole to wish death on gay human beings. If a student at this school had wished death on the teacher, I wonder what your fucking reaction would be.

Thankfully, this piece of shit won't be teaching there this upcoming year but they're allowing him to finish out the rest of this year.

Stack wrote that he was compelled to speak out because he “didn’t want to displease God,” saying the Bible is “without error” and its hundreds of predictions are 100 percent accurate.

I want to know what this asswipe's credentials are for teaching anything other than parochial school.

The reporters caught up with several parents, who were also on the side of the students and their right to explore topics and publish what they want.

The teacher (who I suspect does not have a future in the San Luis Obispo school district) was deemed to be way off base.

On the whole I thought the coverage as of yesterday was good.

BTW, I'm not in SLO, but one of our 3 local stations broadcasts their news plus SB's North County news.

So little risk on his part. I wonder, does this "teacher" hope to get some gofundme cash out of this stunt?
