They go opposite what Jesus taught in the Gospels. That seems pretty 'anti' to me.

(1,007 posts)OMG!!! I watched his speech! I cannot people are following him again! One of his conditions of sentencing was that he never raise money from TV, however, I guess he feels he can say whatever as long as he is not asking for money. Thank you for sharing this link....I don't know how to stop him, but it is great that we are educated to his shenanigans again. I will have to patrol my mom and make sure she is not sending him money again. He really feeds into people who are delusional and paranoid and he talks ever so sanely, that he draws these people in.

(1,007 posts)I went to his site, www.jimbakkershow.com, and yes, he is raising money again. There is a "donate" tab for taking in money again. Someone needs to raise this issue to the original judge or law enforcement again. He was restricted for life and he agreed to the sentence.

This "Beast" is actually mentioned in the Bible, but based on his description, if I saw it, I'd be running like hell AWAY from it!

Jim Bakker is indicted on federal charges
On December 6, 1980, Bakker and Hahn had a sexual encounter in a Florida hotel room. Although they each told different stories of what had happened, Bakker eventually paid Hahn over $350,000 to remain silent. When the arrangement became public, the scandal helped to bring down the entire PTL ministry.
Hahn, who claimed that she didnt want to be in the spotlight, became an overnight celebrity. She posed for Playboy magazine, wrote a book about her relationship with Bakker, and even briefly lived in the Playboy mansion. Hahn, a radio announcer in Phoenix, Arizona, at the time of Bakkers indictment, soon became a regular on Howard Sterns radio show and appeared in rock music videos, as well.
Although the evidence was not particularly strong, Jim Bakker was convicted in 1989 and sentenced to 45 years in prison. The sentence was later reduced to eight years, and he was released in 1994. Tammy Faye divorced Jim while he was in prison; she died in 2007.

(1,007 posts)I did some research and Morningside church is listed as a non-profit organization. https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/pub78Search.do?ein1=&names=morningside&city=&state=MO&country=US&deductibility=all&dispatchMethod=searchCharities&submitName=Search
However, Morningside is illegal with their tax-exempt classification. Non-profits cannot become political and retain their tax-exempt status. And I would say...Jim has become very political. Someone should ask the IRS to investigate.
