After the 25th Amendment

Liberal Librarian | May 11, 2017

This can't go on much longer, can it? We currently have a man in a full blown mental crisis occupying the White House. This man has his finger on the nuclear trigger. The walls are closing in on him, he's paranoid, vindictive, enraged, and there's no telling what he will do.

Let's pretend for a moment that Mike Pence leads a coup and uses the provisions in the 25th Amendment to remove an ill president. Then what?

snip//

Imagine the GOP having to admit that it hitched its wagon to a madman. Which would be worse for it politically? Admit that it put the country and world at risk for pure power, or continue with the charade? Nothing we've seen in the modern Republican Party indicates that it can admit error. Like Trump, it will double down on falsity, daring you to call a lie a lie.

Exchanging a lunatic for a Christian fascist like Pence who appears to be normal and mainstream.
