I used to stick out my thumb, and usually within 10-15 minutes a nice person would come along and broaden my horizons about America from the rocky coast of Maine to the panhandle of Texas.

I feel really bad for older people, like Governor Castro, who have seen their part of the world FUBAR. But, you know, despite all that, I bet he'd probably still stop and give you a lift.

at checkpoints for three or so days after the procedure. The medical provider should provide a notification for the patient to carry with them in case this happens.

Maybe the checkpoint people still have to perform wand sweeps for the radiation, but the medical notification plus identification should end the detention within a couple of minutes.

.... Castro told The Associated Press on Thursday that he believed the stop was prompted by a monitor being set off, not on his appearance.

"I don't think being Hispanic had anything to do with it," Castro said. He said he was detained for 40 to 45 minutes; the federal agency said it lasted 10 minutes.

The former governor downplayed the detention, noting that he wasn't pleased with the way he was treated but didn't file a complaint. He said that he understands Border Patrol agents are "there to do a job" but that they need a better system for dealing with elderly people. He said he was exposed to the sun during part of the questioning.

"Once I identified myself, who I was, and that I had been to the doctor, I was under medical care, I have a pacemaker on my heart, (I would have thought) that they would have been more considerate and said, `Keep on going.' But that didn't happen," Castro said.

This would have been the perfect case but the Hispanic don't wanna play.

This is called: Denial, passivity, go-along-to-get-along, ostrich-burying-head, Stockholm Syndrome. Well, he’s 96 and not our family's (sharp as a tack) kind of 96, is probably one of the tool-Hispanics of the past (and present), doesn’t “get” he could be the Rosa PARKS.

He just had a medical procedure, was on his way to a birthday party - and I'm thinking that he just didn't want to deal with it.

Hopefully the msm - people like Rachel - will get ahold of this story and make it part of the discussion. If that happens, then I will be even more hopeful that the family surrounding him will come out and scream.

This story should have legs. We cannot let it disappear.

As of 1 minute after learning of this there would be an executive order issued giving Gov. Castro his own very heavily armed Secret Service detail that have orders not to let any member of the Border Patrol within 1/2 a mile of the former Governor. And I would also tell people what part of my anatomy they could kiss if they didn't like that.
