Except for James Comey, I can think of no Republican leader that is willing to stand up to Donald Trump. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.
It is all pure partisan politics to them. They show no interest in protecting our country.
How much more do they need to see?

(115,869 posts)The GOPers are going to stick with Trump until they have accomplished as much of their heinous agenda as they can. You might ask, why don't they just let him be 86'd out the WH door and turn to Pence, since he's even more fanatically right-wing, though better behaved. They'd get what they want from him, too. My belief is that if Trump goes down, probably for colluding with the Russians and possible some financial crimes like money laundering and tax evasion, the whole GOP looks really, really bad. Pence will look bad, too, whether or not any of that stuff can be pinned on him as well.
So Pence and the whole party would be grievously weakened and they wouldn't be able to get much of anything they want - and for that reason they're sticking with Dolt 45 for now. But they have another problem now - the Russia investigation threatens to take all the energy away from their domestic agenda. As bad as things are right now, I believe the GOP is going to fuck itself badly, and that makes me very happy.

(1,129 posts)The threat is no longer
simply one or two members of the KGOP ...
that can be kept in check until their replacements are elected
The party leadership itself has knowingly engaged in, facilitated, and endorsed acts which collectively pose a serious threat to democracy, the people, and the geopolitical existence of the 'country' itself.
