HBO cancels Ailes Project

By PATRICK GAVIN | 7/5/12 5:17 PM EDT
Although HBO had been considering a movie on Fox News and Roger Ailes, it has now decided to can the idea.

HBO's Jeff Cusson emails POLITICO a statement:

HBO had previously decided to not pursue this project. As we thought about proceeding, it became clear to us that given that we and CNN are part of the same company, it wasn't appropriate for us to develop further.

Deadline's Nikki Finke, who broke the news of the project on Wednesday evening, finds the statement "interesting":

Interesting, because today I’ve learned that none of the dealmakers have yet been informed by HBO that the project isn’t going forward. “HBO was trying hard to keep the project under wraps,” one of the dealmakers tells me. My reporting blew that.

from a right-wing defender of Ailes's propaganda and scuttling the project before it even had a chance to be considered for greenlighting.

If ANYTHING needs to be investigated, it's Fox "News" success in getting the vast majority of working-class whites to vote against their own economic interests, every time.

Note to self: Don't multi-task when taking a siesta is one of the tasks.

in a story I read at HP. (I know) ....They were gonna be the "executive producers" whatever that means with knuckleheads like those two. Anybody else have more info, I would love to hear that their presence doomed the "project"...
