I get the conservative outrage because they hate everything. But beyond that? A father proud of his adult daughter following her modeling dream and doing some good shoots? Does a father proud of his daughter that did nudity in a movie get shamed the same way as well?

The actual shot is lovely and sexually charged--and there is nothing wrong with that. But a Dad basically saying "look at my hot daughter, you know you want to fuck her--oh and she's smart too", does slide over into creep territory, no matter what the intent. It also clues us into what he values in women.

Not all conservatives are like Trump (thank goodness). I'm more puzzled by some of the reactions in the thread where there's such a meanness about them that it's disturbing. Or they just think it's fully perverted. But if the guy had talked badly about his daughter taking up modeling and succeeding, saying she was showing too much skin, they'd flay him alive for not being modern man enough.

Basically, for the majority of people posting here, there's nowhere near enough context to know what THIS father is really like in regards to his daughter and this situation. But we almost all assume the worst.

He's a republican and I do assume the worst, but I'm sorry his daughter has been drug into it. The picture is artful, and she looks lovely. Quite frankly, I wouldn't have noticed the "lingerie" part if it hadn't been pointed out. Her body, her choice.

In fact I think even describing her outfit as lingerie is trying too hard to be outraged.

Bikinis show more skin than the outfit she is wearing.

I think if you are outraged by this you are letting your hate for Republicans run amok.

This is different from saying the woman shouldn't have worn that short skirt how?

The people with a problem with this pic are the perverts in my opinion who can only see things in a twisted sexual light.

It has nothing to do with people being prudes or denying women are beautiful.

His daughter being an adult means nothing.

This is inappropriate in every way, period.

I will bet not one of these people on the thread calling everyone who objects "prudes" is a woman.

It baffles me that they can't see the inappropriateness of this. It's not the photo that is the problem. It is the fact that a father is posting wank shots of his own daughter for the entire public to gawk at. Like she is his piece of ass to display.

He's saying that he is proud and then reposting a modeling photo that she already shared which is an homage to Edie Sedgwick. You're reaching if you think he's sexualizing her.

And that picture is...what...disgusting because we see her shoulders.

There is plenty to get mad about concerning the Republicans. This isn't one of them.

You seem to be wilfully misunderstanding the revulsion here. Are you a proponent of fathers gazing lovingly at their daughters in their underwear, and all that that implies? It's a provocative pose. It's about sex. Women being photographed in their underwear in bra catalogs don't take poses like that. This is a photograph meant to be gazed at by men. The idea that a father would think "I like this image of my daughter stripped down to her bra and stockings so much, I'm going to post it on social media so other men can look at it!" is repulsive.

Inappropriate, says this pervert. I can see posting racy photos of one's wife or girlfriend in sexy lingerie, red latex or black leather, but posting similar pix of your kids is singularly inappropriate.

And the Religious Right calls us progressives bad names and chastises us for our alleged lack of morals!!! It's wrong! Posting that photo might not be as naughty as Lot and his daughters, but it's NOT something a father should do with his children.

Michael Cohen is a disgusting mess, but a parent being proud and embracing their daughters chosen career isn't suddenly wrong because he does it.

Heck, it's even a relatively tame photo. I've seen bathing suit pictures that are more NSFW than this. Heavens forbid if he posted a photo of them at the beach and she decided to wear a 2 piece Bikini. The DU morality police would be burning him at the stake.

As for the Edie Segwick reference, this is where it comes from...

Sedgwick's gaze is direct. She's challenging the viewer. Her pose is dominant, and rebellious; she's using a man as a perch while she smokes a cigarette. Plus she's Edie Sedgwick, who already had an edgy public persona. There is NOTHING Edie Sedgwick-like in the lawyer's daughter's pose.

will have to pose for public photos in their underwear from now on. The Donald started it, and the rest appear to be falling into line to duplicate his deplorable idea.

And now, Donald Trump may retain Kimberly Guilfoyle as his press secretary. There are already plenty of underwear shots of her on the Internet, so the trend will continue, apparently.

Tacky.

It is a professional modeling photo.

If Cohen had taken the picture himself or if he was sharing something that shouldn't be shared then it would be inappropriate. If Cohen was part of the Christian Right, it would be hypocritical. But, I don't think Cohen is part of the Christian Right.

I do agree that if Obama's counsel had posted a pic like this there would be a huge outrage from the right.

So, if anything it is a commentary on hypocrisy.

I just can't get upset over this.
