(29,219 posts)not like him to go out a "loser"
If they provide him a way to slink down a back alley with a few more billion dollars...maybe.
If he could be promoted to "king of the world" plus a few billion dollars... sure thing.

(52,304 posts)whatever health care crap they pass, plus a tiny budget amount for the stupid wall, then he can resign and claim he's doing it because he accomplished in just a few months everything he set out to accomplish and doesn't need the rest of his term. most efficient president ever, right?

(7,006 posts)If he resigns, Pence would become POTUS. Ryan VP and Pence could pardon 45th for any charges to come in the future.
This is likely the end game and it might happen quickly.

(44,171 posts)That's why McConnell is fighting tooth and nail against an independent investigation of Trump Russia. Because those three knew about it and benefitted from it.

Comrade Donald
(66 posts)And Pence headed the transition team. So skip over Pence and Ryan. Old Senator Hatch would be next in line.

(111,328 posts)every two or three weeks. And those have had EMPTY SEATS lately, even with all those people with signs waiting outside and cheering as he goes in!
I'm sure he thinks about quitting ten times a day. His ego won't let him yet. I don't know if it ever will unless he's completely isolated from his claque, meaning his family and the few rabid loyalists still left.
So why doesn't he just resign so he can concentrate on his 2020 campaign? This might make sense in tRump World.

(111,328 posts)He thought he'd be the "idea man" like he is at Trump Industries, issuing memos/EOs and having them carried out without question.
Actual governing has come as an ugly surprise to him, especially his inability to fire judges or Congressmen he doesn't like.
I doubt he's happy at all. He loved campaigning, the crowds, the lights, the noise, and the attention. It was probably the best part of his life.
I think he will resign at some point, but he'll have to be even more isolated than he is right now.

(8,168 posts)...but we all know, including dumbass, that things are going to get worse for him by the day. He may be better off consolidating his losses, licking his wounds and moving to Russia for an extended vacation

(8,644 posts)I believe tRump and his cohorts can only be pardoned for federal crimes, and not the state offenses for which he will be found guilty.

(25,515 posts)Every day....Donnie can outdo his guest by eating 5 - 72 ounces steaks (the record is 4)
A record for ice cream is 12 pints in 30 minutes, so Donnie should go for 24.
He can brag about being a World Record holder.
Have these people over every day.
Our Donnie problem will be gone.

(2,404 posts)His ego is such that he can't take knowing he isn't adored around every corner.
His Nazi agenda is somewhat stalled because of Russiagate, the WH is in a state of disarrayed clownfuckery, so it's possible.
I don't know which would be worse- Pence as president, or riding the Donald into the tsunami of the mid-terms.
Unless the massive take down we are all hoping for actually happens.

(15,223 posts)We won't get off THAT easily with this bastard. He's still got a few more lives to ruin before he gets ejected from office. He'll resign only when he knows he can't get away with anything else. And we are not THERE yet.

(146,325 posts)Maybe I'll start a Twitter account as "White House Leaker" and post some rumors, too. No name, no credibility.
Pro tip: When you see "Some....are saying," what follows is almost certainly bullshit.

(22,045 posts)It's a verbal tic Trump uses all the time. "A lot of people are saying..." is one of his tells. So is his constant use of, "Believe me." That's when I know that what he's about to say is garbage.
