Supergirl, TV drama progressive to the core

This show is increasingly portraying liberal/progressive thought. In its 2 year run it has covered xenophobia and anti-immigrant movements through the conflict of refugee ET aliens being attacked by human haters. Then there is the love relationship between Alex and Maggie, two strong women who work through some of the difficulties lesbian couples may face. Last nights episode definitely outed the show as being anti-Trump and pro-Democratic party.

President Olivia Marsdin played by the incomparable Lynda Carter cones out as a refugee ET alien. Cat Grant played by Calista Flockhart exclaims, “Well, are you still a democrat!”

Later in the show Cat has a monologue to Rhea (Teri Hatcher) that are words any of us would like to say to tRump if we had the opportunity.

Of course we all know that Melissa Benoist famously carried a sign:

And yes, very liberal. We've been with it since the beginning. Melissa is a treasure.

2. I love everything about this show

Melissa Benoist is terrific every second that she's on the screen, and the fact that she's an outspoken feminist makes it only more enjoyable.

If the show has one shortcoming, it's that the entire cast is preposterously beautiful. If I ever landed on that Earth they'd throw me in a sideshow.
