trump's leak, but we also are NOT hearing much from the Democrats.
What is going on with that?

I think he's said it for so long that nobody's listening, but they showed him on MSNBC last night.

(59,504 posts)while Trump shoots himself in the foot by tweeting that it was his right .. rather than that he didn't do it. There apparently will be a McMasters' news conference, where the respected McMasters will try to tamp this story down. Yesterday, sending him out to make a short statement didn't work - as the media immediately parsed what he denied as things the Washington Post never said. He said NOTHING on what the WP DID say. Following that Trump is already scheduled to speak to the nation.
To me, it is interesting that Trump is already scheduled before the McMasters' news conference. If he had faith that McMasters' could control the narrative, it would seem that he would stay hidden himself preparing for his 9 day foreign trip, which already seemed potentially a disaster before this. (His team already annoyed the Netanyahu's people by rejecting their aid in setting up a visit to the Western Wall, saying it was in the West Bank - so not under their jurisdiction! http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/16/middleeast/western-wall-us-aide-comment/ Nice way to get into what is the trickiest problems of the I/P issue.) Does anyone think that Donald Trump can behave like a normal President (or diplomat) visiting with the Arab nations, Israel and the Vatican? Has he ever gone a week without saying something that would have destroyed any other politician?
It is smart that Democrats are NOT immediately out in full force on this. It is beyond serious. If it is bad as has been suggested, neither McMasters or Trump will be able to explain it away. If Trump had faith that McMasters could, he would not be following him out to speak on this. If it is what it seems, letting the facts first talk for themselves, puts Democrats in a position of asking for Republicans to join them in acting against this.

Many have seen the Intel or know more on the rumors. This is serious stuff.
I think restraint is indeed, called for.
Also, I'm waiting to hear their responses after the 18th when the entire Senate will be briefed by Rod Rosenstein.
The rumors on what will come out of that event are interesting to say the least.
