The more this White House leaks, the scarier it gets. The New York Times is now reporting some absolutely frightening tidbits from inside Trumpworld that should frighten all of us.
Trump's aides wont leave him alone with foreign leaders because theyre afraid of what he might say or divulge.
There is a fear among some of Mr. Trumps senior advisers about leaving him alone in meetings with foreign leaders out of concern he might speak out of turn. General McMaster, in particular, has tried to insert caveats or gentle corrections into conversations when he believes the president is straying off topic or onto boggy diplomatic ground.
Naturally, Trump doesnt like being corrected or diverted (even if hes about to cause an international incident) and has called McMaster a pain. Also, Trump isn't sophisticated enough to pick up "granular details" about intelligence.

(17,314 posts)We all heard his campaign addresses. The simplicity of his thought and speech was laid bare. What he used to his advantage was his (over)confidence, his willingness to be deceiving and his force of personality (perhaps I should say "cult of personality" because enough people bought into it to put him in the White House).

(56,828 posts)it wasn't just Trump voters that bought into some of his BS - until he's crashed and burned on honesty since his inauguration, he was viewed as more honest than Clinton. Because he spouted racist and sexist BS, some thought he was refreshingly honest by not being politically correct. And, his gaffes and lack of knowledge on the issues prior to the election could be written off as a lack of political experience and him not being a professional politician.
