While FreeRepublic is down - they are using a Facebook group - nice because you can see their real names.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/26012226159
But I think some have forgotten they no longer have the cloak of anonymity.
Yesterday one fellow made the remark "Snipers Wanted" - with the clear implication: execution of NYT reporters.
This was in response to this story posted on the Freeper FB page
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/us/politics/james-comey-trump-flynn-russia-investigation.html
I figured with all the great press PennState has gotten lately - they might like a little more!

(4,835 posts)Roger Shouse began his career in 1976 as a public school teacher (math and social studies) in Detroit. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 1994 and has served at Penn State since then. Spanning over 20 years, his teaching and research address organization theory, school culture, leadership theory, and more recently focus on East Asian education and school reform, critical approaches to leadership and creativity, and the analysis of cinema and other discursive works as forms of educational leadership. His current research explores how Chinese filmmakers problematize the meaning of "educational leadership" (jiaoyu lingdao). He has twice served as a visiting professor in China; at National Pingtung University of Education in Taiwan and at Sichuan University in Chengdu. Dr. Shouse serves as a Senior Associate Editor of the American Journal of Education

(8,203 posts)FBI agents arrested an Arizona man last week for threatening to shoot Rep. Martha McSally, a Republican who represents the same Arizona district Gabrielle Giffords represented when she was shot in the head in 2011.
Steve Martan, 58, left three separate expletive-laden messages on McSally's congressional office voicemail in early May, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday in a U.S. District Court in Tuscon. In the first, he talked about wringing the congresswoman's neck.
"Martha, our sights are set on you," he said in the second message. "Right between your f------ eyes."
In the third: "Yeah Martha, your days are numbered."

"Alt Right" is simply another meme designed by those who seek to smash all conservative thought. It's a tool used by radical progressives to marginalize their opponents. I have much more concern about the "Ctrl Left".

Once again, Penn State does a totally stupid and shortsighted thing. I guess it's like they wanted to get on the "let's drop the CI" bandwagon. The bottom line is that PSU balked when they discovered that CI wasn't going to be the academic gravy train they thought it was going to be.
