SOCHI/MOSCOW, May 17 (Reuters) - Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump had not divulged any secrets during a meeting in Washington with Russian officials and offered to prove it by supplying Congress with a transcript.
But a leading U.S. Republican politician said he would have little faith in any notes Putin might supply.

(5,611 posts)which is exactly the same as what was reported). Putin looks like an idiot for saying this when the facts are known and Trump himself has stated that yes he did discuss the classified info but he is allowed to because he is prez, etc. So nice to have Putin intervening to save our president isn't it?! As if this weren't totally surreal already.

(31,516 posts)If you wrote this story, most people would believe it was fiction.
Did the Russian press have recording equipment at that meeting or are they relying on notes and/or memory of the conversation? If they were allowed to record the conversation, what are the odds that they left bugging devices in the oval office?
The further this story goes, the weirder it becomes.
