Tea Party Founder - "Romney is not a conservative. He is a liberal."

Romney's Obamacare Flip-Flop Proves Conservatives Can't Trust Him

With Obamacare ruling, Mitt Romney had a chance to win over conservatives, but he blew it

By Judson Phillips , Founder of Tea Party Nation

Is Mitt Romney blowing it? The better question would be, "Has Mitt Romney already blown it?"

Let's start with the basics. Romney is not a conservative. He is a liberal. This is his track record. He won the primary because he had more money than any of the other candidates and quite possibly more than all of them combined. Jonah Goldberg has argued that Romney is a late convert to conservatism, and as such does not speak the language of conservatives, much like someone who tried to pick up a foreign language as an adult.

When Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts declared the Obamacare tax to be just that, a tax, and the law was constitutional because of that, conservatives were outraged. Romney was clueless.

He sent his Etch a Sketch master Eric Fehrnstrom to announce that the campaign considered Obamacare to be a penalty, not a tax. Less than a week earlier, the Supreme Court had managed to do what Romney himself could not do. It united conservatives behind him. In five days, he managed to blow it. In one simple interview, Team Etch a Sketch took the wind out of their own sails and made conservatives simply wonder what the hell he was thinking.

I normally wouldn't link to obvious right wing propaganda, but it's great to see such a major split in their party and to see them attacking their Presidential candidate. hahahaha, not to mention the veiled threat at the end of the article.

Thankfully, the tea-party founder didn't call him a "centrist." Otherwise it might drain off votes. AnotherMcIntosh Jul 2012 #1

but now that penalties are considered taxes it is clear he raised taxes by half a billion dollars.

He needs it to not be a tax so that he didn't raise taxes. Unfortunately, for him, the "IT'S A TAX!" cry has been taken up by all the RW airheads who can't see that they are damaging their own candidate with that talking point.

I don't think this one is his fault. It is all the talking heads who attack our president so regularly that they don't think about it. They all should have just let the tax/penalty die a natural death of about 3 news cycles. Now it will be in the debates and Rmoney will need to answer for this again after people have begun to pay attention.

A week ago, almost every conservative was united and most were even going to step up to the plate to help Romney. All he had to do was not screw it up. He blew it. Most conservative voters are "ABO" voters: Anybody But Obama. Romney, with his incredible lack of political savvy, has now pushed away many of those voters. In the end, because President Obama is so bad, many conservative voters will go to the polls and vote for Romney as the ABO candidate.

In other words, It doesn't matter what the non-Black guy says or does, us white guys are gonna vote for the non-Black guy.

Weird Willard subscribes to only one ideology: "Mitt Romney Wants to be President." What the hell he'd do if he ever got elected (Flying Spaghetti Monster Forbid), he doesn't even know.

The Kook Brothers and Grover the Fuzzy know, though: He'd do whatever they tell him to.
