I simply cannot listen to his shit. His speech patterns are incoherent gibberish. And it really reveals the stupid mentality of people who supported him and voted for him. They are as infantile as he is. And this orange pig is going to represent us in front of the world. You hear nothing but repetitive verbal vomit.
You have to hang your head i shame. I simply cannot listen to one second of the garbage.

(23,147 posts)I so agree that he's unlistenable. I even listened to a lot of the drivel GW put out, but just can't with orange assface. He's just so disorganized, no coherent thoughts, all nonsense and lies and hate for everyone but Russia and the rich. His treachery, greed and Russia First practices are endangering the country, it's working class and even the entire world.

(18,748 posts)I can't imagine the damage he'll cause when the foreign countries he visits speak more nuanced English than he does. He may resort to the easy American hand gestures that worked so well for him in his campaign. The thumbs-up and the "okay" gesture, I've heard, are neither the "way to go!" or the "okay" signals he thinks they are in those countries. He's so dull-witted he won't even see the point of "When in Rome".
Embarrassing. There's no dignity.
I feel your pain. For me, it's a skin-crawling sensation that's with me from the moment I wake up these days, to the minute I slide into unconsciousness.

(1,257 posts)It is disgraceful, and nauseating that this moron is going abroad to represent our great country.
One has to find some amusement, in a morbid sort of way, that this bloated tangerine does not speak English or use correct English grammar as well as many foreign leaders and diplomats, who speak English as a second language.
In fact, I am sure many speak more than two languages!
This *Rump character speaks like a burger joint ad, if that well!
Certainly he is a huge fan of propaganda minister Goebbels, who said (and I paraphrase here) "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it."
And as far as his infantile hand gestures, his "OK" sign or whatever you call has ruined my appreciation of some of my most favorite Asian art and sculpture.
Every time I now see a representation via portraits or statuary of the magnificent Buddha, with his enlightened hand gesture, I think of that rotting hull of a human being that is occupying the "Leader of the Free World" designation.
What? I know, my personal issue, but it bugs me!
More like leader of the line to get a Bigly Mac! (With a side of heart attack)
I really hate to hate.... but there we are.........

(18,748 posts)The fact that other countries need to "child-proof" everything instead of merely "receiving" and "hosting" the US president makes me cringe. Although, I do find some morbid amusement in it.
I have to admit, I was using the thumbs-up every once in a while, but now that the gesture's been appropriated by Trump, it's meaningless to me, and I actually refrain from doing it.

(22,853 posts)I'd place it closer to 5 or 6-years old in terms of cohesion. Perhaps a 12-year-old in terms of vocabulary and lack of impulse control.

(5,810 posts)he exhibits most of the behaviors associated with Narcissism. I will leave it to mental health experts to assign a proper type of Narcissism to his case. Layer that over with another type of disorder, say dementia (another ailment with many variations), and you have a person with some confusing and off putting behavior. He is manipulative, self serving and often appallingly ignorant of history and basic facts. He simply makes things up but talks with great authority, as if he knows what he is talking about. Some of his ardent fan base are lacking in some basic knowledge, too, so when he speaks with authority, they believe him. They WANT to believe him. It never occurs to them that he is making it up as he goes along. They don't analyze it or think critically about it. That strategy has worked for him for a long time with a certain number of people.
However, people in NYC and around the world who know tRump or have been burned by his business practices know a different Donald tRump. They are not impressed by his authoritarian bombast, not under the spell. Many of us were put off by what we saw during last year's campaign. If we didn't know much about him, our radar went off that something wasn't quite right about him. The signs and symptoms of his illness(es) jumped out as a clear warning that something was wrong. His family has done a terrible disservice to this country (indeed the world) by covering for him, enabling him to continue bamboozling the uninformed or easily swayed.
Another aspect to this story is how the Republican party jumped into bed with him for their own nefarious reasons. The entanglement of the tRump campaign and the republicans will be unraveled over the next few months and I think when the truth comes out, the Republican Party (like tRump) will be destroyed.

(13,431 posts)Whites without college degrees supported him in stratospheric numbers because they could understand him. Educated Americans shunned him because they could discern his idiocy from what he said and how he said it.
If I am watching television or a video on the web and he suddenly starts talking in it, I have to mute it or turn it off because he like nails on a chalkboard for him. I become dumber if I am trapped somewhere like at an airport and he opens his mouth on some screen.
The man is an unintelligent fool. He makes W seem like Mensa material. It's simply appalling to me that so many people want a man as stupid as he is to lead this country.

I am hoping that he'll have a complete nervous breakdown during this trip, but he's got his human pacifiers with him, so that #Sadly won't happen unless somebody tries to serve him "foreign" food instead of his well-done McDonald's burger.

I read (sometimes) the transcripts. I mute the audio and watch the closed captions (a really good way to read his body language, by the way, and his body is screaming discomfort and fury) but I don't listen to him, except to monitor his degree of verbal looping. It's getting worse.
I can't say I'm immune to schadenfrueude. I enjoy watching him be miserable.

Immature
Ignorant
Petulant
Vindictive
a Narcissist
a Sociopath
a Demagogue
a Pathological Liar
We can see this and so can the rest of the world, but his supporters are blind from decades of propaganda vomited by the likes of Roger Ailes.

His much-vaunted business acumen is sheer bull. Yet enough voters fell for it to sneak him into the White House.
