(17,865 posts)Their are plenty of private heritage organizations that can prominently feature his statue.
The same argument can be made for manger scenes. Almost invariably their is a church within a mile or to that has sufficient yardage to feature any sort of manger scene.

(41,990 posts)Yeah, there are young supremacist wannabes but for the most part the mind set of the city is one of openness, family, eating and drinking, music, and parting you from your money. The protests number in the fives of people.
The city's history is secure. A couple of statues won't change it.
Take down Ignatius Reilly, now, and you'll have a fight on your hands.
