The timing just seems so strange. You have to know if he holds any public appearances with any heads of state, and is put in front of a microphone, all he is going to do is whine and play the victim. I can just imagine that most of his conversations are going to be about how he is being picked on. This just might end up as being the most strange and uncomfortable foreign trip, ever.

(60,536 posts)dropped bombs on Trumpty Dumpty. Reuters, the AP, Bloomberg, and countless other news agencies have been bombing as well. Trump's WH is leaking like a submarine made of screen doors. Why would you think there's some sort of conspiracy motivation behind todays bombing?

(26,263 posts)But announcing the appointment of a special prosecutor just before he takes his first international trip just seems surreal, to me. And oh so inconvenient for those in the spotlight. If it was any other POTUS, this wouldn't seem to be such a gigantic disaster about to happen, but trump*'s anger and behavioral issues make me think that things are going to be getting really, really internationally bad and more embarrassing the usual.
I really expect this trip will be cut short.

(11,119 posts)And if VP Pence is with him, so much the better! And with regard to all the other POSs traveling in the Trump entourage, they shouldn't be allowed back in the country again either...
But what if the people in his entourage are innocent, you may ask! Well, then they're just making a sacrifice for the rest of the American people!

(21,786 posts)it's not coincidence at all. The story has time to grow legs and it goes without any substantiative White House response because most of the key players are on a plane to Riyadh until something like 5am.

I bet his lower lip is stuck out. . . What a tiresome man bitch he is. . . Good god-- he's an incompetent fool, but he's ALSO a total and complete WASTE of space. He's utterly devoid of ANY redeeming value, whatsoever.

(4,787 posts)In which he supported Trump's firing of Comey. (It came out late yesterday online.) It seemed to go quite beyond Comey's HRC email actions. In fact, it almost sounded like he still thought that Comey should go, even if he had never spoken about Hillary at all.
Now, earlier this week, there were reports that Comey thought that Rosenstein might have an ambition-situation that would affect his independence. I think that his statement to Congress just may have been impacted by that.
When the Russkis in the Oval story came out, there were quotes from a few unidentified sources - Buzzfeed had this - that what the Washington Post had revealed was not the worst of what had happened in the meeting. I'd say this qualified. And then some. His former colleagues might be protecting Comey's reputation re: honesty by revealing this today, and making sure that his words about Trump were not dismissed because of Rosenstein's remarks.
