Things get ugly at MSNBC as Lawrence O'Donnell takes contrac dispute public

" Lack is reportedly turning his scalpel toward O’Donnell — with an eye, insiders say, to replacing him at 10pm with Lack’s close friend Brian Williams, the disgraced former anchor of NBC Nightly News. Lack has been aggressively trying to rehabilitate Williams and putting him at 10pm, in a throwback to Williams’ MSNBC days in the early 2000s when he was being groomed to replace Tom Brokaw, could bring Williams one step closer to reclaiming his Nightly News chair from its current occupant, Lester Holt."

I will never watch MSNBC if they bring back that liar Williams . . . ever!

From CNN article linked below

The show is highly rated, partly thanks to a strong lead-in from MSNBC's 9 p.m. host Rachel Maddow.

Last week he tweeted about a particularly highly-rated episode and said "Thanks for your support. We need it."

Too many similarities to the "Joy Reid is gonna be fired" bs rumors that DU obsessed over a few months ago.

Lawrence O'Donnell Retweeted Reckless Moxie
"Contract expires June 4. I'll let you know where you can watch me June 5 if it's not msnbc. I'm sorry this situation has become public."

You can argue what both sides' motivations are, but it's been widely reported that Lack wants to move the station right-ward.

You cannot argue what Lawrence O'Donnell said. Which is that his contract negatiations are not going entirely smoothly.

However, yes, feel free to be skeptical - it's healthy. But remember that Comcast (1) has two motivations to move the station rightward (pleasing their wealthy upper management who brought in Lack, getting fleeing Fox conservative eyeballs), and (2) Comcast is motivated to keep the rightward movement quiet and out of the press.

To me that tweet sounds like a smart contract negotiating strategy. Shows them he has somewhere to go if he isn't fully happy with the terms yet. (salary, support, etc)

2) the bottom line for Comcast/MSNBC is the business of making money. Rachel, Hayes, L O'D are making them money.

Also please note that from day one they've had conservative programming during the day as 'balance' to the evening line up.

Logically speaking, If this Lack person truly wants to get rid of L O'D for "criticizing trump" he's an idiot and incompetent business person. Every host criticisizes Trump. Even Morning Joe is getting harsher in his criticism.

So Lack will be over ruled if this is true.

So again, I don't believe MSNBC is going to get rid of O'Donnell. No matter how many speculative click-bait articles websites pump out.

Thanks and have a great weekend

If you're near Comcast's headquarters in Philly, protest there.

Comcast doesn't like Lawrence because he angers their conservative board and management, who all like to damage government to cut taxes on the rich and corporations.

If progressives hit Comcast in the pocketbook by making the public aware about their conservative management, they will reevaluate.

Protest at Comcast. That's the best way to affect this decision.

for 'balance'. Evening line-up left/liberal, and that's what makes them Money.
