I think Trump will resign.

Pence will drop the investigation and all the other cockroaches will get off scot-free. Then Trump and his base can whine about the witch hunt that ran Poor Donnie off. The republican party can get back to fucking up the country which is what Putin wants.

was a lifelong ambition, or the culmination of a political career. He basically spouted the same infantile bullshit that he spouted on TV, and that was eaten up by the media and the rubes, in that order.

He really thought that being POTUS was like his other "jobs," i.e.: ordering people around, firing people, having others bow and scrape to his rich ass. That's not happening, is it?

He's said on a number of occasions that the only thing that matters to Trump is "winning."

Ryan and McConnell will stonewall as much as they can. I still stand by the many statements I've made here on DU that neither of them will make a move unless they feel their own careers are in jeopardy. And with Ryan being implicated in the Russia cover-up, that day might actually come.

I DO NOT see Trump going through an Impeachment process, because there's no way he could spin that as a "win." If that specter loomed over him, he'd bolt for the door.

It all comes down to his asking "How can I WIN," and right now, that seems to be taking the form of looking for ways to sabotage Meuller.

As it was pointed out on MSNBC last night, SO FAR...in his professional career and as President...he has gotten away with EVERYTHING.

If he becomes the cat on his ninth life, yeah...he WILL resign.

He doesn't have the ability to consider that the entire world doesn't revolve around him.

He obviously hates the job itself.
The only thing he likes is the attention it gets him.
But he hates the day-to-day 'work' that a president has to do.
And I know I'm not telling you something you didn't already know.

I don't know exactly how he'll couch it, but (at least to him) it will sound like he's doing something really great.

Maybe something like
"I've accomplished more than any other president in history, but I've had to neglect all the people who work for me in my many businesses. I owe it to them to return to the world of commerce. They and their families depend on me for their livelihoods.

I leave my very able friend Mike Pence in charge and know that he will continue the with the enormous progress we've made to Make America Great Again."

How's that sound?

He'll keep bloviating, trying to bring the thing down.
He will keep denying and excusing himself and accusing others until the end.
That's what has worked for him in the past and he'll expect it to work here too.
I don't think he's intelligent enough to realize this is a different ball game.

And at some point, when he's close to being taken down, he'll up the rhetoric and his people will engage in civil (and not so civil) disobedience. They know no better. They've been fed a diet of right wing bullshit.

... got into full swing, I predicted he would resign.

He hates the job and has the attention span of a gnat, even when he's doing something enjoyable.

The reason I was sure he would find a "way out" is because he can't handle the criticism, the negative news stories, and being constantly ridiculed for his ignorance/stupidity. The entire world is laughing at him - and he knows it.

I expect the reason he'll give will have something to do with wanting to get back to building his business empire, etc., because it's the legacy he plans to leave his children - blah, blah, blah.
