The neighborhood watch volunteer who killed Trayvon Martin has left a Florida jail, a day after a judge set his bond at $1 million.
George Zimmerman left the Seminole County jail on Friday. He was wearing a white dress shirt and a jacket when he left.
A judge granted Zimmerman bond Thursday for a second time. His previous $150,000 bond was revoked after prosecutors presented evidence that he had misled the court about his finances. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in Martin's death.

(15 posts)Unlike the presiding judge, I hope to have the the truth come out at trial. Dunno what that truth will be, but I'm not willing to jump to wanted predispositions when the facts may or may not support one side or the other. Let's let the facts tell the truth, OK?

(26,289 posts)Is there a difference? And, did he have to pay just a portion? He had that $130,000, already so that woudn't cover it, if he had to put down a percentage?

(39,343 posts)I dont see how he was able to secure the other 90%. I hope he's a no show at trial.
On edit: The 10% is a fee that you dont get back, but you have to pay the other 90% if you dont show for court.

(60,567 posts)...as it is willing to bear.
With that kind of money on the line and a $100K fee paid, the company can afford to have a couple of bounty hunters posted to make sure Zimmerman shows up in court as required. Zimmerman is also required to be under electronic surveillance at his own expense.
He's not going to jump bail. It's just not going to happen. That is a very safe bet.

(39,343 posts)I used to know a bondsman and even did fugitive recovery for a summer.
The last thing a bondsman wants to do is lose 900K on nut job, even for the insane fees they charge. I'm shocked he got it

(60,567 posts)If he shows up in court or not, he loses it.
If he doesn't show up, the bail bond company will send bounty hunters to drag him into court.

(30,540 posts)while Zimmerman has squirreled away hundreds of thousands of dollars he had plenty to pay his own bail. "Fools and their money are soon parted".
