Me an' Earl, my redneck buddy.

Earl voted for tRump.
I heard him say so and it damn broke my heart..
We've been close friends for a long time.
He is a self-proclaimed redneck, but he ain't stupid.
Stupid doesn't make more money than I'll ever dream about seeing and I'm 76.
Earl is 79.

He is one of the most generous people I know.
If you're down on your luck, Earl is glad to give you a hand up.
He thinks everyone is 'good people' unless they prove otherwise.

Yesterday I said "This Special Counsel appointment doesn't look good for tRump."
"Aw, they just oughta leave the guy alone and let him do his job for four years."

As smart as he is in business, Earl just doesn't get it.
That's where most of tRump's supporters are.

I told Earl it was a big deal with the Russia thing and that we'd just have to agree to disagree.

Damn.

with a friend of mine. She voted for Trump, but we never talk about it. That changed this week. I don't even recall how the whole thing started, but she was very critical of President Obama and Hillary. I told her those were right-wing talking points from Fox news. And it just escalated from there.

We both finally calmed down and realized this wasn't worth losing a good friendship. But, I still don't understand how we can have so much in common, get along 99 percent of the time, but when we discuss politics, it gets brutal.

We also have agreed to disagree and not talk politics anymore.

People can be so good in so many other ways but just don't get it when a deplorable they like gets elected.

What about Trump appealed to him? I have a middle-of-the-road coworker who voted for Trump b/c he actually believed the billionaire playboy (and his billionaire playboy buddies) would help Americans struggling with high healthcare premiums and deductibles.
