After September 11th our nation should have given the entire region a collective middle finger and completely removed ourselves from involvement there. Instead of squandering trillions of dollars in our military adventures and propping up regimes such as the Saudi's, we should have invested that money in renewable energy here at home and left the region to sort its own mess out.

We could tell all the nations in the region "keep your damn oil, we don't need it and you aren't getting anymore support from us."

Dow Chemical, Chevron, ExxonMobil.

To say nothing of the private equity firms that rely on their capital.
