(51,129 posts)anyone who is a co-conspirator. Impeachment is initiated by anyone declaring on the House floor that the President should be impeached, per what i've seen recently. That happened already. So pardons may not hold up in court at this point.

(52,317 posts)The pardon power doesn't extend to stopping the impeachment process but the impeachment process doesn't prevent pardons (from criminal liability) unless and until the the president is removed by the senate.

(24,605 posts)My concern is that a resignation by trump would take the wind out of the sails of the various investigations, and they need to be completed. Trump is hardly the only one who must be exposed. Pence for sure is involved and probably Ryan and McConnell.

(51,627 posts)A special prosecutor has many limits. A separate, independant bipartisan investigation is a must in order to fully investigate any and all of them and in a timely manner. Indivisible has planned rallies/marches for June 3 called #Marchfortruth for this very reason. They are going to be in 110 cities besides Wash DC. You can Google it and see if there is one near you.
