. . . enthusiastic folks, aren't they?President Barack Obama told an enthusiastic, if steamy crowd this afternoon that the election "isn't just about two candidates or two parties--it's about two fundamentally different visions for America."
A crowd of about 6,500 gathered on the College of Fine Arts lawn. At least 13 people were treated for heat exhaustion as temperatures stood in the high 90s.

and even in the heat, the attendees are very enthusiastic, it's very telling.

(2,307 posts)2. I live in a swing state so we seldom get a chance to see a sitting president without giveing $$$$
But, I would think 6500 would be a good turnout on a nice Spring day. I think this is great. Of course if President Obama came to Alabama (reasonably close to B'ham) I would be there no matter the weather.
